LOVE & LUST

LOVE is a profound emotion of every human being. But there exists many misinterpretations in case of love among the average people. Before urging for love, we should know what love actually means. Love is a strong feeling of affection. It is a great interest or pleasure in something. There is love in everything and everywhere in this nature.  I believe in life before life and life after life. In both stages there exists love. We all have a life before being a child in this earth. It's only by nurturing this life with love we all starts our physical life as a separate being. Similarly, after our whole physical life, there is a life as soul. Here also the necessary thing is love.

Love, when coming to the physical life, is held within tight boundaries. Though the love is beyond all, it is those stupid people with zero or negative knowledge that makes it tightly bounded. For some, love is the one which lies in parental relationship. For some, it is the one which lies in spouse like relationship only. For some, love is the one which should be given in a specific order as first parents, then siblings, then partner and finally children. They are not bothered about those who helped us in our time of difficulty, those who taught us how to learn from life, those who were and are still our friends and so and so. It is these vacuous beliefs that change the playground to a battleground.

Human beings are social creatures. Hence there is no wonder that people need other people in their lives to feel most themselves. But forcing them not to be with others is a kind of psychic disorder. Love should be unconditional. Whenever there comes a condition, love becomes meaningless. For a human being, he/she has love towards themselves, partner, parents, relatives, friends and so on. But there is no priorities which set an order in the amount of love given to others.

There is no such question that who is important for an individual. All are playing their own roles not only in their life but also in other's life. Once our part is over, we should move away. And being in other's life even after our role has ended and also thinking that it's we who decide when to put an end in our role in other's life are quite inexcusable.

Love and lust are always depended for human beings. But now a days, people seems to be more thirsty for lust rather than love. Both love and lust are necessary in a married life. But the lust should not override the love.

Religions, especially Christianity, treat lust as an inappropriate desire or a desire that is inappropriately strong, hence being morally wrong. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna, an Avatar of Vishnu declared in verse 21, that lust is one of the gates to Naraka or hell. Thus lust based on physical attraction towards the wrong person at the wrong time and towards the right person at the wrong time is actually on the flip side.

In our society, people are getting more and more addicted to lust rather than love. The whole media is behind the lust related incidents happening every second. Television, billboards, movies and magazines are all full of lustful images. According to John Lahr, even the advertisements are driving people towards lust.  The strong attraction to the celebrity is also a form of lust. Thus we can claim that one in every 25 person is in lust.

I know a person who first claimed that she is in love with her neighbor. A few years later, she felt in love with her teacher. A strong desire for lust towards him drives her on the wrong track. Like the air goes from the balloon,  the desire decreases as time passes. Then she again felt in love with another person. All these happens due to lust and what she actually felt was a puppy love. Now a days, these kind of lust is highly influencing the people and is driving them to many criminal activities related to lust. Even in the married life, many couples are getting divorced due to the thirst of lust which in turn force the partner for the sexual activities all the time.

Thus everyone should understand that lust may not be always related to love. Sometimes it makes an illusion making us what we do is actually right. Thus all the impurities should be wiped off making a better awareness about the difference between love and lust.

An Era of Reading Books

The shelves once filled with books are now empty. The parents or grandparents showing books with colorful pictures and telling them stories was a common scene during our childhood. Children were interested in reading rather than playing video games. The parents (especially father) were used to take us to public libraries when they have free time. I still remember that my father used to take me to the library near by on every Saturday. Reading books by sitting on the bench in front of the library was such a nice experience. According to Marcus Tullius Cicero, a room without books is like a body without a soul. The smell of old paper has not yet gone from my mind.  By reading books, we will be imagining all parts of the story, poem or whatever it is. While imagining, we are using both our mind and brain which is the most advantage of reading books. The ability of creative thinking is getting developed by reading books.  Last year while I am doing my PG, we (me and...

Evolution of Malayalam Film Songs

We are all fond of songs. We have an intense thirst in listening and enjoying songs. Some people may be listening to the lyrics while some others may be interested in the music by which the song is composed of. Some songs may be heart-touching and will bring our mind to a relaxed state. But some may lead us to the past bright or dark memories. Thus music can make inevitable psychological effects in human beings. But, are the Malayalam songs today so memorable as the ones in 1980s and 90s ? I just want to let you all know the evolution of Malayalam film songs from 50s onwards making a shift from the phenomenal lyrical value to the nonsensical lyrical value. Omanathingal Kidavo (1950s) "Omanathingal kidavo.." strikes a benevolent chord in ever Malayalee. This song is actually the poem written by Irayimman Thampi. This song lists a lot of mesmerizing things in the world. The song invokes an intense nostalgia for a bygone juncture of our life filled with tender moth...

Childhood: The Resplendent Life

The idea of writing this post came to my mind when I saw a child playing with a kitchen set and a doll. On seeing the child, all I can do was just to smile.  Though every stage of life has it's own importance, I think childhood is quite unforgettable. This is the stage in which we are responsible for nothing.  As time passes, we all get busy with lot of other matters. Our priorities changes with our age. It's good to memorize atleast once in lifetime that there was a time before Temple Run and Fruit Ninja. By this post I am just trying to make you look back to those sweet childhood games and memories.   1. Making sand cake-  A funny baking game 2. Building block- The game of being the childhood engineer 3. Kitchen set and Doctor set- The cute chef and doctor 4. Chinese Checker- A fun strategy game with an aim to get all our balls to the opposite side 5. Caroms- A "strike and pocket" table game 6. Trump cards- Aversion of trick win...
